CONGRATULATIONS to our U7s who took their first steps towards league football on Saturday. We took a group of academy U7s to Chapelfields Colts for their first game in an Alvis shirt and we were treated to a display of football far beyond their ages. The passing, tackling, movement and positioning of these young footballers was superb and a huge thank you goes to Ady, Simon and Liam (the Academy team) for the preparation and training they have received. Thank you also to John who managed the team on Saturday. Boys, you should feel very proud of yourselves.
Unfortunately we were unable to involve all of the year 2s from the academy in this game, however we hope to arrange more friendlies in the future to aid the development of all eligible academy players. We will try to involve all of the year 2s in the other games. |

Goalkeeper training is ON on this Saturday. We are running Goalkeeper Coaching sessions for all of our Goal Keepers. The sessions are on Saturday mornings and are run by a fully qualified Coventry City Goalkeeper coach, Steve Kershaw. Please contact your manager if you would like to attend. Details of the sessions are as follows: Venue: Alvis Sports Ground Age groups: 12s and under 10am until 11am 13s and over 11am until 12pm Could all managers please try and get their Goalkeepers to attend. |

The Alvis Football Academy is ON on this Saturday, see above. THE ACADEMY WILL BE ON EVERY SATURDAY UNLESS WE NOTIFY YOU OTHERWISE. Training starts at 10:00am and runs until 11:30am, we welcome all boys and girls aged 5 - 8. Please make sure that your child has appropriate footwear depending upon the weather. They will also need to wear shin pads. We will provide a cold drink. The cost of the academy is £2.50 per session, please pay at the front of the clubhouse on arrival. Each child must be accompanied by an adult in order to be registered. Following payment, each child will receive a stamp on their hand which they will need to show to the coaches. There will be Alvis merchandise available to buy on the day. The tea room will be open, serving hot drinks. |
